QUESTIONS FREQUENTLY ASKED ABOUT DANCE

When is tuition due ? No later than the 10th of the month

• *How many performances do you do each year? There are at least 2 big shows per year , one In December and in June, also ages 5 and up do parades at Christmas .
• *Are parents allowed to watch classes? Parents are not allowed to watch class because students focus to learn better if it is them and instructor.
• Can my child make up a class if they miss ? Only if it is another class they can fit in ability and age wise , but instructors for the most part only do makeup classes if the instructor misses . It is important students do not miss class unless they are sick.
• *What does my child wear? students ages 2-10 need to wear bodysuit and tights or leggings, students ages 11-18 need to wear leggings or tights and bodysuits or tanks and all ages need appropriate shoes for the genre of dance they are taking. Hair needs to be up in a ponytail or bun for girls.

OWNER AND INSTRUCTOR

SHELLEY HAS OWNED HER OWN STUDIO SINCE 1997. SHE HAS A BACHELORS DEGREE IN MUSIC EDUCATION K-12 WITH A VOCAL CONCENTRATION AND A MASTERS DEGREE FROM BOSTON UNIVERSITY. SHE HAS HER DANCE CERTIFICATION THROUGH DANE EDUCATORS OF AMERICA IN ALL GENRES OF DANCE. SHE OWNS AND OPERATES HER STUDIO IN GREENBRIER COUNTY, WV.

SHE HAS CHOREOGRAPHED FOR WV TECH, WOODROW WILSON THEATER, GREENBRIER V ALLEY THEATER, AND SEVERAL SHOW CHOIRS THROUGHOUT THE STATE OF WV. HER PERFORMING GROUPS HAVE TRAVELED AND PERFORMED FOR THE FOLLOWING PLACES: LOCAL FAIRS AND FESTIVALS, PARADES, AND COMPETITIONS IN ALL OF OUR SURROUNDING STATES . hER DANCERS HAVE ALSO PERFORMED AT DISNEY WORLD, DISNEYLAND, CARNIVAL CRUISE LINES, AND HAWAII ALONG WITH WORKSHOPS IN NYC WITH BROADWAY THEATER AND ROCKETTES.

HER GOAL AS A DANCE INSTRUCTOR IS TO HELP DANCERS REACH THEIR CREATIVE POTENTIAL AND GROW THEIR LOVE FOR THE ARTS AND DANCE.

HAYLEE SHIRES

INSTRUCTOR

Haylee Shires has always been passionate about dance and her love for performing began at the age of 3 when she started at Images of Dance with Mrs. Shelley. After high school, Haylee went on to continue her education at West Virginia Wesleyan College where she obtained her Master’s of Business Administration with a Dance Minor. During her time at WVWC, she was the Captain of Wesleyan’s Collegiate Dance Team, coached by Lesa Dencklau, where her and her teammates competed Nationally in Daytona Beach, FL. She has trained extensively in several styles of dance with professionals from all around the world. Haylee’s choreography has won multiple awards and recognitions, including the “11 O’Clock” award at 24Seven Dance Convention where her piece was chosen to perform in the closing show. Now, Haylee loves teaching dance and strives towards leaving her passion for movement in the hearts of all her students.
